(EIRNS)—According to top Pentagon sources, the U.S. Navy is under pressure to prepare and deploy for contingencies of a U.S. attack on Iran, provoked by an Israeli preventive strike against Iran. The Navy preparations are based on the anticipation that if Israel attacks Iran, without informing the U.S.A. in advance, President Obama will order the U.S. military to "finish the job." This will involve the deployment of B-2 strategic bombers, ship and submarine-based cruise missiles and other weaponry. The military is adamantly opposed to any kind of attack on Iran, but the fear is that the President will order the U.S.A. to hit Iran in the wake of an Israeli strike and expected Iranian retaliation.
This warning coheres precisely with Lyndon LaRouche’s own warnings that any military action against Iran will lead to a general war in which thermonuclear weapons will be used.
